Review IHC 2021

The first combined congress of the two most important headache societies, the International Headache Society and the European Headache Federation took place from 8–12 September 2021. Originally planned as hybrid meeting, we had to react to the Covid-19 situation and decided to conduct the congress fully virtual.

Here are some facts about the congress:

  • We had almost 2000 registered participants from 96 different countries.
  •  We had 586 abstract submissions, most (121) of which focussed on the topic of "Migraine preventive therapy".
  •  The most visited Teaching Course was "Headache research update & a look into the future" with 275 participants.

Review EHF 2020

In 2020 the life we know has changed in an unforeseen way due to the worldwide crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic. A virtual format of the 2020 congresses was the only possible way to let the scientific exchange happen at all.

As all of us agreed afterwards it was a great success and a dignified substitute. All of a sudden, people from all over the world, who never had the chance to take part in an onsite congress, had the possibility to join the conference. It was a suspenseful new version of the conference, which was reorganised in only 6 weeks with the motto "seperated but nontheless united".

EHF 2020 in numbers
